How can YOU help feed
3,300 hungry men, women and children on October 15, 2009?
With
generous corporate sponsors, food donors, and community support,
the Magic City Harvest World Hunger
Day "Help Stop Hunger Now" event will once again prepare and
distribute a nutritious meal to 3,300 hungry men,
women and children in 26 Birmingham area feeding programs on
Wednesday, October 14.
The "Help Stop Hunger Now" event
activities continue to generate greater awareness of hunger and
food waste while significantly increasing our capacity to meet
growing food assistance requests.
In partnership
with UAB Hospital, corporate sponsors and food donors,
the
World Hunger Day event will:

Provide a Meal for 3,300 hungry people in our local community
all food for meals is donated
*
Heighten Awareness of hunger, malnutrition and food
waste
* Raise Funds through the public
Box Lunch Day for operation of our year-round
weekday recovery and
distribution of excess prepared and perishable food
*
Mobilize Volunteers around issues of food insecurity and food
waste
